Our Story
The Early Years Academy Journey
We would like to introduce ourselves as the Directors of The Early Years Academy.
The Early Years Academy was founded in 2019 where we began our journey to create unique nurseries that offer outstanding care and education. Our aim was to create awe and wonder in every moment, tranquil calming environments, and a "loving, close-knit family feel" which would be felt from the moment you walk in.
Working in the childcare sector for over 20 years, gave us the experience, passion, and drive we needed to achieve our goal, creating something of which we are very proud.
Every aspect of our Nursery is incredibly important to us, from the "relaxing atmosphere which is echoed in every room" to the high expectations of children and staff.
We believe that the small details can make a big difference which is why we have extensively researched our environments, different pedagogies, theories, and approaches. We have taken inspiration from the Early Years Learning Framework Australia, Reggio Emilia, Hygge, and the Curiosity approach.
We foster an environment where "staff are curious learners, devoted to securing the best outcomes for children".
We believe our Team is our greatest resource and without them, The Early Years Academy's ethos and Vision would not be possible, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work and commitment to helping The Early Years Academy become everything that it can be!

Teaching and Learning
Our Pedagogy
Here at The Early Years Academy, we believe in taking the lead from our children. We use their characteristics of effective learning to understand the way in which each child prefers to learn, gathering this information alongside their individual interests to create in-the-moment planning.
Our Educators provide activities and environments which promote curious, adventurous, resilient, and inquisitive learners. Our pedagogy is used to strengthen children's cultural experiences, social opportunities, and exposure to communication, and language creating solid foundations for future learning.
Babies
Our babies thrive on feelings of love, compassion, and protection creating secure attachments.
Toddlers
Our toddlers learn to be individuals, build relationships and make meaning of the world around them.
Pre School
Our preschoolers are active participants in building their knowledge, understanding, and skills creating solid foundations for their future learning.
What Parents Think
Health & Safety
We prioritise health and safety and are proud to say that we have lots of measures in place to keep your child safe while in our hands. Not only do we ensure that all of our team are trained in first aid but they are also trained in safeguarding children, food hygiene and hold or are working towards a minimum full and relevant level 3 in early years education.
We have a thorough and rigorous recruitment process which ensures that all staff have references and undergo a full DBS check. We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff and invest in their training to ensure that your child is receiving the very best care.
COVID-19
We understand that in the current climate the health and safety of you and your child is paramount and so we have created a detailed COVID-19 policy and risk assessment which is available upon request. All of our staff have participated in internal and external COVID-19 training. We continue to follow all government guidance with regards to the opening and operating of early years settings and regularly review all of our policies, risk assessments and practice in line with these updates.
We currently are open for all families and doing personal tours for new families by appointment only; wearing appropriate ppe and where possible outside of our normal hours of operation.
